Inspiration for GRIDRACK™ struck me on a family drive back from a trip up north in Michigan. Like always, I found myself observing the pickup trucks we passed. Most of them were hauling trailers chock-full of stuff, but their truck beds were empty.
This got me thinking - why aren't people using their truck beds more? I figured it was because the space wasn't easy to use or tailored to their needs. If we could find a way to fix this, these truck owners could get a whole lot more use out of their rides.
Once we got home, I couldn't shake the idea. So, my daughter and I, channeling our inner DIY-selves, put together a rough-and-ready model of my idea. We used nothing fancier than cardboard and our kitchen island as our workshop. That little cardboard mock-up was our first step towards creating the GRIDRACK™ system you see today.
Over the past year I’ve recruited a team spanning engineering to marketing, who have all dove in head-first, embracing the idea as their own, and helped grow that seed of an idea into GRIDRACK™.
